Nicaragua: Tesoros De Dios – “Treasures of God”

Nicaragua: Tesoros De Dios - "Treasures of God"

Let the Sun Shine In Tour had a great start in Nicaragua this month! We traveled to Managua, Nicaragua to do art and music workshops with kids for 12 days. Our first stop – two days working with awesome children at Tesoros De Dios.

This is a school for children with disabilities and special needs. The kids played kazoos, made Gallo Pinto (rice and bean) egg shakers with us, played ukulele’s for the first time, and learned the notes of the musical scale using BoomWhackers (Cool brightly colored tubes, each with a different note that were donated by Guitar Center in Nashville). The art time with the kids was such a radiant joy! The beautiful artwork was stunning. One child painted with his feet and it was so cool to see him light up as he chose bright colors and painted his canvas with joy. It was such a privilege and an honor to make music and art with these inspiring kids.

Stay tuned for more posts about our trip to Nicaragua! Here are a few pictures of our time at Tesoros de Dios.
